"Get Hip records was founded in 1985 by Gregg Kostelich, Michael Kastelic, and Bill von Hagen, then three of the four members of the Cynics. Our original intent was two-fold: to provide a way to release Cynics material and guarantee some promotion, and to start a more accessible label that could sponsor and release material by some of the truly cool bands we knew about. Today, almost eightteen years later, The Cynics are still together and Get Hip is totally owned by Gregg, with several hundred CD, LP, 10", and single releases under our belts.
"Over the years, we've expanded our roster of artists and created the "Get Hip Archive Series", for the sole purpose of reissuing countless number of bands from the fifties and sixties."
